Impressive Global Sales Secures Queen’s Award
Northern Ireland based pharmaceutical company Norbrook Laboratories Ltd has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise by Her Majesty The Queen.
The award, which is given for the highest levels of excellence, is in recognition of the company’s outstanding continuous achievement in International Trade.
“Norbrook Laboratories Ltd has enjoyed sustained annual growth in recent years,” said Lord Ballyedmond, Chairman and CEO, Norbrook Laboratories Ltd. “Our export sales have increased by 15% year on year in the three year period since 2007 when global conditions were at their most challenging and they now represent over 90% of the Group’s consolidated turnover. We are delighted to receive the Queen’s Award for Enterprise which recognises our focus, expertise and success in doing business on the international stage.”
Norbrook Laboratories Ltd is a world leader in the pharmaceuticals industry, with manufacturing facilities on 4 continents, sales and marketing offices in 30 countries and exports to 120 countries.
“Norbrook’s success is a combination of a number of factors including our continued investment in research & development, a focus on global markets, our innovative business techniques, first-class production facilities and an unwavering commitment to quality,” adds Lord Ballyedmond. “We are licenced to manufacture veterinary medicines by most of the world’s governments including the United States where we are the only company in the world licensed by the United States Food & Drugs Administration (USFDA) to manufacture sterile injections for veterinary use outside USA and import them for sale in USA territory. This is an exceptional achievement which is testament to our first-class manufacturing capabilities. We are also contracted by 9 out of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies in the world to manufacture finished dose medicines and/or raw materials, a further tacit acknowledgement of Norbrook’s position in the global market-place."
Norbrook Laboratories Ltd was recently listed in the Top 50 European Growth Companies 2010, an accolade awarded to companies whose “ingenuity, hard work, perseverance and capacity for innovation have shaped a successful and growing business, significantly contributing to the creation of new employment and prosperity in Europe.”
Lord Ballyedmond continues: “Norbrook has been competing on the world stage for over thirty years and has grown our business annually year on year since we began operating. We have increased employment by 35% since 2007 and with further expansion planned this year, this figure is set to increase.”
Norbrook Laboratories Ltd has been awarded the Queen’s Award on four previous occasions.
