Norbrook Launch a new Closamectin Injection for Sheep
Norbrook Laboratories announces the launch of new Closamectin Injection for Sheep. The first 4 in 1 injection to treat mature and late immature Fluke, Worms and to control Scab.
The result of continued investment in Research and Development from Norbrook Laboratories Ltd has produced another first, Closamectin Injection for Sheep is the first 4 in 1 injection in Europe to treat mature, and late immature fluke, worms and to control scab. Fluke disease is currently thought to cause annual losses of €2.5billion worldwide, with prevalence increasing 12-fold in EU Member States in recent years.
Closamectin Injection for Sheep is licensed in the UK, Republic of Ireland and other European countries, and contains the same unique combination of ingredients as Norbrook’s market-leading cattle product, Closamectin Pour On, and provides effective treatment for adult and late immature fluke, worms and external parasites.
“The effect of fluke, worms and external parasites on the health of a flock of sheep can be terrible, resulting in real financial losses for the farmer – so we’re proud to launch a product that will help farmers control these parasites” says Alistair Couper BVMS MRCVS, Norbrook’s GB Veterinary Manager. “Liver fluke is one of the most damaging of all parasites affecting sheep in the UK and Ireland and around 10% of acute cases results in sudden death. Closamectin Injection for Sheep contains 0.5% w/v ivermectin and 12.5% w/v closantel and is licensed for the treatment of liver fluke (from 7 weeks old), a wide range of gastrointestinal roundworms and lungworms and sheep scab.
