Safety Info Section:
Observe label directions. Do not use Loxicom® Oral Suspension in cats. Acute renal failure and death have been associated with the use of meloxicam in cats. As with any medication, side effects may occur. These are usually mild, but may be serious. The most common side effects reported in field studies were vomiting, soft stool/diarrhea and decreased appetite. If side effects occur, discontinue treatment immediately and consult a veterinarian. Dogs should be evaluated for pre-existing medical conditions prior to treatment and monitored during therapy. See product labeling for full product, safety, and adverse event reporting information.

Dosage and Administration
Always provide Client Information Sheet with prescription. Carefully consider the potential benefits and risk of Loxicom® (meloxicam oral suspension) and other treatment options before deciding to use Loxicom. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration consistent with individual response.
Calibrated measuring syringes and two dosing concentrations facilitate precision dosing for even the smallest dogs. The syringe fits on to the bottle and has a scale in pounds designed to deliver the daily maintenance dose.
On the first day of treatment, Loxicom oral suspension should be administered at 0.09 mg/lb (0.2 mg/kg) body weight. For all treatments after the first day, Loxicom should be administered once daily at a dose of 0.045 mg/lb (0.1 mg/kg).
Only administer Loxicom with the provided syringes. The container should never be used as a dropper bottle for administration of Loxicom.
For dogs 1 to 10 pounds: To prevent accidental overdosing of small dogs, administer the 0.5 mg/mL strength product on food only, never directly into the mouth.
For dogs over 10 pounds: both the 0.5 mg/mL and 1.5 mg/mL products may be either mixed with food or placed directly into the mouth.
See package insert for full prescribing information.
